A digital marketing strategy includes the effective use of selected digital channels to achieve marketing and business goals. Digital platforms include web marketing, SEO, social media marketing, digital advertising, email marketing, and much more, but let’s start with the basics, shall we?

To avoid legal repercussions (GDPR, CCPA etc.) and not be penalized by search engines and other digital platforms, companies have shelved questionable techniques such as black-hat SEO, manipulative ads, mass emails and web scraping.

You must look at SEO as a requirement when it comes to digital marketing strategies.  Nearly every user starts their hunt for a new product or service with the search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo! So, even if you can’t rank on Google’s 1st page, start with Bing and Yahoo! Stay away from shady link farms, and build authority links from places like Medium, Quora, Tumblr, TechinAsia, Thrive Global, Huff Post and all the big publications.

  • Pay-Per-Click Advertising (PPC)

PPC is a paid form of advertising, which is based on an auction system. With PPC, you bid for keywords that you want your advertising to show up for — your ad activates when your keyword is included in a user search. Then, these advertisements appear above organic listings at the top of the search results.

If a user chooses to click on your ad, then you are paying for that click; so, you can’t randomly advertise – you must learn the nitty-gritty of the game, otherwise you’d be cursing yourself for burning holes in your own pockets!

Fb & Instagram Ads are also form of paid advertising, and now Tiktok is doing great too, but then they’re interest-based rather than intent based, as opposed to Google Adwords
